Today it is
the 17th of February and this is so
close to when we’re going back to Belgium. Today we went the ANZAC centre in
Albany. We all got a card with a soldier who we could follow through his
journey and we could get to know him a little bit more and what he did during
the Great war. We also got an audio phone where we could listen to the stories
of some people during the war. It was so interesting to hear their stories and
to see the little movie clips and texts. After the tour we could write a little
text to our soldier and it would appear on the screen, it is a good activity to
show our respects for the soldiers who died. I saw a little text of a person
who said ‘thank you Belgium’ that was so nice to see! After that we went to the
souvenirs shop and bought some things to have a little memory.
Then we
went to the beautiful war memorial which has a lot of stairs. It was so hot and
we had to do all these stairs but it was worth it because of the beautiful view
and memorial. We also saw a black lizard! After we honoured our soldiers and
Gwenny read her poem we went to do our last day of shopping!
Everyone was
excited and happy to have some shopping! After the shopping we went back to our
hotel and put on our bikinis we were a bit shocked because we don’t remember
making our beds so we were a bit scared that it was the roomservice haha!
And then we
went out to the beach! It was a bit cooler down there but some of us jumped
into the sea and there were a lot of waves. We jumped into the waves and swam a
lot! Some of us were laying down and reading some books. And then we went back
to our hotel and freshened ourselves up and here we are sitting in a beautiful
restaurant besides the sea waiting for our diner to come! It was a very fun and
interesting day!
